Glasshouse Fragrances co-founder and CEO Nicole Eckels has always been obsessed with fine perfume. A passionate believer in the importance of scent as an everyday luxury, her vision was always to include Eau de Parfums (read: personal perfumes) in our brand offering. Over the past few years, we’ve worked towards making this a reality, developing multifarious fragrances, and now? The day is finally here.
Our seven new Eau de Parfums, also known as EDPs, are the result of collaborations with some of the world’s best perfumers. Each one started life as a wearable fine fragrance before then being translated in our candles and bodycare products, not the other way around. Important because this method means each fragrance is not only evocative and complex, but also of the highest possible quality. In the fragrance world an Eau de Parfum is a formula that contains a high percentage of perfume oils, between 10 and 20%. EDPs are a luxurious alternative to EDTs (or Eau de Toilettes) which contain 5 to 15% aromatic compounds.
So why Eau de Parfum? Because the endurance of a perfume is based on its concentration and quality, we choose to use the maximum dose of high quality aromatic compounds possible in all of our products. This is also why our candles are triple-scented. The intensity and longevity of our fragrances is as important to us as it is to you - we’re for quality-first. So the next time you’re shopping for a personal fragrance or a home fragrance product, take a look at the calibre and quantity of the ingredients that have been used. Take it from us; it’ll make all the difference in how much you enjoy your new purchase, and for how long.
